	Les Hirondelles is an English-run Bed & Breakfast with Barbara and David Ledger as your resident hosts. Situated in the heart of the French countryside just 1km from the pretty village of Juvigné in the Northern Pays de la Loire. On the borders of Brittany, Normandy and Anjou, Les Hirondelles is ideally situated for exploring this beautiful and unspoilt region of France.

Accommodation

This pretty French farmhouse cottage sits in the countryside approx 1km from the village of Juvigné. It has been extensively renovated to a high standard, but retains its traditional style, with a wealth of original features such as exposed stonework and oak beamed ceilings and wood floors.

There is electric heating throughout, together with a cosy wood-burner in the lounge.

Facilities include double bedrooms with en-suite and twin bedded rooms.

Breakfast is taken either in the farmhouse kitchen or lounge or outside in the garden if preferred in the warmer summer months.

There is a choice of either Continental breakfast (bread, croissants, jams/preserves, tea or coffee, fruit juice) or traditional English breakfast if preferred.

Guests are welcome to use any of the facilities including sharing the owners lounge/living room/garden.

Outside there is ample off-road parking on the drive.

Local Area

Juvigné is the nearest village to Les Hirondelles, being just 1km down the road. It is an attractive village which blazes with colour during the summer months.

The lake on the outskirts of the village is a lovely peaceful place, good for a picnic and fishing and an absolute picture when the lilies are in flower.

Ernée (10km) is the nearest town, with a full range of shops, banks, bars and restaurants. There is swimming and other sporting activities on offer. Market day - Tuesday.

Fougères (20km) is about a half hour drive from Juvigné with its imposing chateau and wealth of medieval buildings makes an interesting day out. It is a large town and offers an interesting variety of shops and good choice of restaurants. The area around the town offers numerous sporting and leisure activities including swimming, canoeing, sailing and horse riding. Market day - Wednesday.



	Fougères



		River

Lassay-les-Château is a small market town with a beautiful array of houses around the main square and narrow streets leading to the chateau. The gardens of the former medieval Benedictine convent are now a rose garden with a wonderful display of old species of roses. Market day - Wednesday.

Laval - approx 30km.
Mayenne - approx 35km.
Bagnoles de l’Orne - approx 1 hour away.
Carrolles beach - approx 1 hour.
Le Mont St Michel - approx 1 hour 30 minutes.
Granville - approx 1 hour 40 minutes.
St. Malo - 1 hour 40 minutes.
Caen - 1 hour 50 minutes.

Opportunities for walking and cycling are widely available. The owners have a couple of cycles for hire if required.

Fishing is very popular in France and most towns and villages offer fishing in the local rivers or lakes. Fishing permits are usually available from the local Marie.

Many towns and villages have outdoor swimming pools for the summer and lake swimming can also be widely enjoyed.

Horse riding and canoeing are also available.

For golf enthusiasts there is a 27 hole Golf course near Laval.
