	Le Moulin de Fontenay is the ideal place to get away from it all. Set in eight acres of its own woodland and paddocks it offers peaceful, secluded surroundings whilst being close to all local amenities. Located close to the border between Normandy and the Pays de la Loire near the village of Couesmes-Vaucé 10km from Gorron.

Accommodation

Ground floor

Le Moulin (the mill) has a large kitchen which has been tastefully decorated whilst retaining original features such as the mill workings.
The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, and a gas cooker.
The dining table seats eight with a high chair available on request.

First floor

Living room comfortably furnished with large settees and armchairs around a wood-burning fire.
A TV and DVD player with a good selection of films are available and a bookshelf well stocked with jigsaw puzzles and games.

The original mill stairs are quite steep and could prove difficult for the elderly and toddlers.

Outside
The mill has its own private fishing lake of about one acre which is well stocked with 20lb-plus carp. There is also a trout stream running alongside. Fishing on the lake is free to all guests.

Youngsters will enjoy collecting their own breakfast eggs from the free-range chickens or perhaps helping to look after Silas the donkey and the goats.

Red squirrels and water voles live in the area, deer have been spotted in the woods and if you are very lucky you might even catch a glimpse of the elusive black pigs that still roam wild in the region.
Kingfishers, woodpeckers and buzzards also inhabit the area.

Local area

Couesmes-Vaucé - 1km - has a bar, small shop and petrol station.

St Fraimbault - 4km - has a bar, butcher, small supermarket and a restaurant.
There are three lakes where pedaloes can be hired.

Gorron - 10km - the nearest big town with all amenities.

Ambrieres - 10km - a riverside town with two excellent restaurants.

The three main towns of Domfront, Mayenne and Laval are a short drive away.

Further afield are Mont St Michel, Cancale with lovely beaches and seafood restaurants, Bayeux, and the Normandy Landing beaches of the Second World War.

The ports of Caen and St Malo are 90 minutes away, Cherbourg and Le Havre are approximately two and a half hours.
Dinard is the closest airport.
