	Set in the quiet wooded countryside of the Loire Valley area near Auverse, 20 minutes from Saumur and 45 minutes from Tours airport. A stress-free location - a quiet child-free zone - ideal for short breaks/weekends.

	We offer either the fully equipped Studio Gite for two people - or accommodation in the Longere house, where you can enjoy a full catering service.

Gite

The Studio Gite is available fully equipped for two people.

Kitchen/lounge area.

Bedroom with ensuite shower.

Separate washbasin / toilet.

Longere House

Twin bedded ensuite room upstairs and double room ensuite downstairs with patio area.

Outside

Le Mortier is set in about 10 acres of its own grounds with a large pond, plenty of wildlife and our own free range fruit bushes and trees.

All guests have use of the pool and hot tub.

Local area

Le Mortier is set in the quiet wooded countryside of the Loire Valley 6 minutes from the nearest supermarket, 20 minutes north of Saumur, and 45 minutes from Tours airport.

It is just 5 minutes drive to the Forest of Chandelais which is open to the public and there are many tracks to be explored and super picnic spots with no crowds.

We are in the centre of the Loire chateaux country. Many are easily accessible to visit in a morning or afternoon. This is the Royal area of France with much history.

We are also in the centre of the Loire Valley Wine Route with hundreds of vineyards and Wine Chateaux to visit and wines to sample. Famous wine cellars are to be found in Saumur and are open most of the year round.

For those who appreciate the old traditions you will still find many hunting packs in this area, mostly on foot but several on horseback too. We can arrange for you to enjoy some hunting or perhaps a ride through the forest, or even a carriage drive with picnic.

All the prices include linen, towels, a small welcome pack on arrival, heating in low season and use of pool and hot tub.

Dinners are available on request.

Bed and breakfast (ensuite)

3 courses with wine for 25 euros per head

Weekend breaks (Fri/Sat/Sun) Including bed, breakfast, 3 course dinner and wine - from 300 euros per couple.

For longer stays a special price can be discussed.
