Two of the gites are fully wheelchair accessible and disabled-friendly.

Héron

Héron is fully wheelchair / disabled friendly, with ground floor level access, specially widened entrance and interior doors. Wheelchair access within the gite is made easier where necessary with the use of very shallow ramps. Thoughtful touches such as accessibly positioned plug sockets and 'drive under' wash basins have proved popular with guests.

Large double bedroom with electric wall-mounted heaters and space for a travel cot or a small 'put-u-up' bed.

Twin bedroom with electric wall mounted heaters.

Hibou

Climbing the outside staircase, so much a part of French farm buildings, leads you to Hibou Gite.

The massive lounge / kitchen / diner area is light and airy.

The well-equipped kitchen is a combination of modern and traditional.

A light and airy double bedroom that is both large and cosy.

The second bedroom has two singles and a bunk bed.

Outside - a private garden area has been set aside to the rear of this delightful holiday home with outdoor furniture including table, chairs, barbecue, loungers and cushions.

Chardonneret

Chardonneret has been renovated and subsequently modernised to offer fully wheelchair- disabled friendly accommodation, with easy ground floor level access and specially widened entrance and interior doors.

Wheelchair access within the gite is made easy with the open-plan aspect.

This gite is essentially an open-plan apartment, large and roomy with a separate bathroom.

Outside - there is a private patio to the front with all outdoor furniture including table, chairs, barbecue, loungers and cushions.

Camping

The campsite is situated within the grounds of our farm house. It's a small site, just 10 pitches on the main field and two by the smaller gite.

The grounds are mainly laid to grass and the ten pitches on the main field are arranged around the outside edge of the site, leaving a large clearing in the centre.

Eight of the pitches have a 'UK Type' electric hook-up (6-amp only).

The shower block has two toilets, two showers and two basins. One of the toilets is a shared WC with shower, making it suitable for wheelchair users or for families with small children.

Grounds

Within the grounds we have an above-ground pool.

We also have a range of outdoor games including badminton, ping-pong, boules, footballs and a golf practice net.

We also offer bikes for hire by the day or the week.

There is a separate field behind the property that is ideal for ball games.

Local area

Le Chant d'Oiseau is located between the villages of Mouliherne and Vernantes in the heart of the Loire Valley. There are castles, theme parks, museums, art galleries and shopping to be had within a short drive in any direction.

Both Mouliherne and Vernantes have a selection of village shops and there are ample local restaurants in the area.

The lake at Mouliherne is perfect for fishing, walking or lazing on the small beach.

Saumur is the nearest large town, approximately 20 minutes drive. The town is rich in medieval architecture with the majestic Chateau de Saumur overlooking the town from its vantage point high above the mighty Loire.

Angers, the 'county town' of Maine et Loire, may be an ancient city but there is no shortage of elegant shops, stylish restaurants, and entertaining theatres.

Cholet is around an hours drive away from Le Chant d'Oiseau, and is the home of one of the most exciting theme parks in Europe, the 'Grand Parc Puy du Fou'.

Tours is the nearest large city where you'll find some amazing shopping, markets, and an abundance of restaurants and bars.
