A modern, well-furnished, alpine ground floor apartment in the traditional Savoyard village of La Grande Terche, 10 minutes from Morzine.

Although part of the Portes du Soleil ski network this resort does not have any British packaged accommodation and is run by locals who are genuinely welcoming and friendly.

Ideal for both winter and summer vacations.

Accommodation

Kitchen - with stainless steel sink, washing machine with combined tumble drier, fridge, 4-ring ceramic / halogen hob, microwave, toaster, desk-top oven / grill, 12 place setting crockery and cutlery and ample pots and pans.

L shaped living / dining room - with a 3-seater and a 2-seater settee and two large foot stools, large dining table with seating for 6, widescreen TV, DVD, MP3 and CD hi-fi system.

Sleeping:
Double bedroom with ample storage.
Twin bedroom with bunk beds and double wardrobe.

There is also a coin nuit which is fitted with a sofa bed, wardrobe and double bridging unit.

Bathroom - full-size bath with mixer shower over, wc and wash basin. A strong clothes rail over the bath (for wet ski jackets).

Duvets, 2 double and 2 single, 8 pillows, all bedding, linen and towels plus iron and ironing board are provided.
Cleaning is included at the end of your stay.

Outside

French doors open onto a large balcony. Parking is just a few feet from the balcony.
A few feet from the balcony is a large garage for storage of ski boots, skis, mountain bikes etc.
Access from the car park is flat with one small step onto the balcony.

Winter

La Grande Terche has an extensive ski area of its own with lifts only 100m from the apartment.
There is a ski school office and nursery slopes for beginners at the top of the lifts.
There are some 40km of pistes entering three different valleys and 14 lifts directly accessible from the village.
The rest of the Portes du Soleil’s 650km of pistes are available from 2 car parks just 15 minutes away.
You can ski back to your car in both places.

Summer

There is a lot to do in the Alps in summer:
Rock climbing, summer sledging, mountain boarding, hiking and mountain biking. You can also parapente from the top of a ski run.
There is white water rafting 15 minutes from the apartment.
Lake Montriond, 10 minutes from the apartment, is a large freshwater lake surrounded by trees and paths. At one end is a patrolled bathing area and restaurants.

The area

La Grande Terche is a traditional Savoie village, set in a beautiful backdrop of mountains and stunning scenery, perched above the valley of the river Dranse and St Jean D’Aulps. There are bars, restaurants, a tobacconist, ski shops and a launderette.

St Jean d’Aulps, five minutes down the valley, has a doctor’s surgery, banks and tourist office, as well as shops and restaurants.

Morzine -10 minutes - has ice skating, cinemas and excellent restaurants and shopping.

Mont Blanc, Europes highest peak and the famous town of Chamonix are 40 minutes away.

Geneva airport is approximately 75 minutes and Lake Geneva only 40 minutes.
