Accommodation Cosy, quiet double bedroom with queen-size bed. A small but adequate ensuite bathroom with shower and a craftsman-made fitted closet. The large living / dining room is elegantly furnished and very comfortable. A CD player and music library are provided. Adjacent to the living-room, behind a room-divider, is a generously equipped gourmet galley kitchen with refrigerator and all cooking utensils. We have furnished the apartment with an eclectic, yet harmonious assortment of antiques and bric-à-brac, contemporary furnishings and objets d'art, and craftsman-built cabinets and furniture. This apartment provides comfortable accommodation for two people (plus a child or young person) in elegant surroundings, while losing nothing of the slightly faded charm of this beautiful property. In terms of practicalities, the apartment is ideal for a couple and can also accommodate a child (we can provide a crib or a child's bed). Guests will find a washer and dryer about 100 yards away in a laundry room shared with one other rental apartment. There is off-street parking. The apartment is pet friendly. No smoking in the apartment. |

Location Located above one of Lourmarin's several chic cafés and sheltered from the street by a leafy elm tree, Le Loft is situated in a historic building that was previously one of the few grand patrician houses of the village. |

Incidentally, the windows of the apartment and the café terrace below are the place to be for people-watching, a popular sport in fashionable Lourmarin. The Loft offers a very French experience. |

Lourmarin is of course officially classified as one of the "most beautiful villages in France" - a classification made by the French Tourist Board which goes to only around 140 villages in the whole of France. Lourmarin is about 25 minutes from Aix-en Provence and 35 minutes from Avignon and St Remy/Les Alpilles. The village is typical of the region, with many houses either in the local golden stone or stuccoed in various shades of beige and ochre. There is a Renaissance chateau, a Protestant church and a Catholic church, which reflect some of the history of the village and the area. Lourmarin lies at the foot of the Luberon hills, which are covered with a typically Mediterranean mix of pine, oaks and other trees. The highest point of the Luberon is around 4000ft. Around the village are old farmhouses, fields, vineyards, cherry orchards and olive groves. It is a lively and popular destination both for people from other parts of France and for foreigners - hence the 15 restaurants. Local available activities include: tennis, kayaking, swimming, cycling, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing and horse riding. |
