	Chalet with fishing lake in the Charente close to the Limousin in France

Chalet de Brigueuil is situated on the banks of its own spectacular, ancient 22 acre lake that stretches almost a kilometre to the naturally created bird reserve at the far end. Set in its own private gardens it provides a peaceful haven for the most relaxing of holidays.

The chalet, at Brigueuil on the borders of two departments, is ideally situated to explore the delights of both the Charente and the Limousin.

Kitchen fully fitted with microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, cooker and fridge / freezer.

Fishing

Fishing is available from the chalet; daily / weekly rates apply and bait is available to purchase along with all other tackle requirements.

The lake has enormous carp reaching weights in excess of 40lbs. The carp pictured weighs 44lbs.

Cycle hire available, but must be booked in advance.

The area

Local activities include canoeing, cycling, golf, hiking, horse riding, fishing, kayaking, speed sailing, swimming and rock climbing.

The Perigord-Limousin Natural Regional Park encompasses many historical sites.
Discover the park on foot, mountain bike, horse back, horse and carriage or cycle-rail.

The Chateau of Pompadour - 1 hour 20 minutes - is the home of a large Anglo Arab horse stud.

Oradour-sur-Glane - 17km - the village remains frozen in time as a memorial to all the inhabitants who were slaughtered during WWII.

Poitiers - 1 hour 30 minutes - airport and Futuroscope.

Marais Poitevan - a network of marshes ideal for a relaxing day on a barge.

Limoges - 40km - nearest airport.

Bergerac - two and a half hours - airport.

Cognac is just under two hours away by car and Bordeaux approximately 3 hours.

Caen ferry port to Brigueuil is approximately 270 miles.

All bed linen and towels are provided. Prices do not include food or fishing.
