The house can be divided into two sections. You either rent the whole house or just the ground floor.
We never let them separately at the same time so you will have exclusive use of the pool and grounds.
 

Accommodation

Ground floor

The main lounge has a huge sofa that can seat 6 adults or 8 children, Sky television, a DVD player, a video player and a stereo/CD player. There is also a glass fronted, wood burning fire, dimmer lights, beautiful custom made wall units and high quality Charentaise furniture.

The main kitchen has ceramic hobs, eye level oven, microwave, large toaster, electric kettle, coffee-maker, electric whisk, bar-style wine opener and a large fridge-freezer. There is a large assortment of plates, cups, glasses, pans and cutlery. There is a beautiful oak dining table that seats 10+ people, with inbuilt seating around the wall side.

Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed and Sky TV / DVD.

Bedroom 2 has a large double bed and one single bed.

Bedroom 3 has two single beds and an ensuite shower.

Three bathrooms, the main bathroom has a theatre dressing room type mirror with make-up spotlights.

The 3 showers are all of the power variety and there is a bath with a shower attachment.

There are 3 toilets.
 

First floor apartment

The lounge that accompanies the first floor apartment has a dining table, a sofa bed and a kitchenette which has an electric hob, grill, fridge and sink unit. The lounge has a separate outside door.

A huge bedroom has two single beds, a double sofa bed and Sky TV.

The second bedroom has two single beds.

The open plan bedroom has a large single bed.

The 1st floor apartment has a separate water heating system.

Most rooms have electric central heating for winter visits.

The garage contains the washing machine, a tumble dryer and large fridge freezer.

The front conservatory is an ideal place to have breakfast and to relax in.

The pool conservatory is shaded all day and remains cool. This is helped by the drinks fridge and ice-cube making machine. You can relax here and watch your children enjoying the pool.

We have table tennis, boule, books, videos, DVDs, Sky TV, Scrabble and Monopoly.

Outside

The 10m x 5m walk-in swimming pool has a 100 decibel pool alarm and a cover that complies with French safety regulations.
The shallow end starts at 3ft and goes up to 6ft at its deepest.

There is CCTV in the kitchen overlooking the entire pool area for piece of mind for parents whilst cooking.

There is also a shower attached to the pool house and a large stone barbecue adjacent to the pool. The pool has underwater lighting and spotlights that overlook the entire pool area and garden.

The pool area is totally secluded, not overlooked from any direction. Clients are responsible for providing insurance for using the pool area.

The dining table adjoining the pool seats 12 people and there are several loungers around the pool.

There is a smaller dining table in the shade in the front garden.

Local area

Chez Bouquet is situated 25 minutes from Royan, with its wonderful beaches, and 20 minutes from the smaller resort of St-Georges-de-Didonne.

The pretty port of Mortagne sur Gironde is 15 minutes from the house.

Cognac is only twenty five miles away.

The ancient town of Saintes on the River Charente is about twenty minutes.

Seafood is an important part of the cuisine of the Charente-Maritime, as the quayside restaurants of La Rochelle, Royan, and Mortagne, with their menus of sea bass, turbot, Oleron oysters and mussels will confirm.

There are good golf courses at Royan, Cognac and Saintes and riding at Cozes and Epargnes.

L’Etang des Brousses is a lovely fishing lake, 5 minutes from the house, with bar and restaurant. Fishing is 7 euros a half day and they will cook the fish you catch for you.

Set in 3 hectares the beautiful gardens of the Botanical Park Deau at St. Andre de Lidon are only 5 minutes from Chez Bouquet.
