A charming stone cottage set in the tranquil Charente countryside, adjacent to the owners home on the edge of a peaceful hamlet.
With its impressive pool, la Petite Daniere makes an ideal place to relax and unwind. It is a perfect base for exploring the interesting and varied region of south-west France.
Only 4km from Chalais, 75 minutes from Bordeaux and Bergerac airports and close to the borders of the Dordogne, Charente-Maritime and the Gironde.

Unfortunately this property is not ideal for children under 5 years.

Accommodation

The spacious cottage has been thoughtfully converted from a traditional barn and is on a single level.

The living room has windows on two sides overlooking the garden and surrounding countryside.

The cottage has a dining area and fully equipped kitchen with full-sized oven/hob, washing machine, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster.

A wood burner and radiator provide heating when required.


	There is a satellite TV (receiving BBC TV & radio), a VCR and a radio / CD / cassette player.

A short hallway leads to the east-facing bedrooms and the bathroom.

Two spacious bedrooms - one with a double bed and one with twin beds.

Both bedrooms have full size wardrobes and drawers and are fully carpeted.

The bathroom has a large shower, toilet and washbasin.

Household linen is generously provided but guests need to provide their own towels for sunbathing and swimming.

Outside

The splendid 12m x 6m pool is secluded in its own walled enclosure with shaded area.
The pool is shared only with the owners so guests will have it to themselves most of the time.

Outside the cottage is a terrace, parking area and exclusive garden of ample size with gazebo and garden furniture.

Guests are invited to enjoy the owners 2 acre garden and sample the seasonal fruit.

The area

On the doorstep one has views and walks, flora and fauna. In late July the fields of sunflowers will amaze you if never seen before.

Chalais - 4km - has a bustling Monday market and a good choice of restaurants.

Aubeterre - 30 minutes - with steep streets and impressive monolithic church.

Royan, La Rochelle and Arcachon - 75 to 150 minutes - for beautiful Atlantic coast resorts.

Angouleme - 45 minutes - large town with ramparts and old quarter.

Cognac - 45 minutes - quaint old town, distilleries and boutiques.

Bordeaux - 60 minutes (+ a short tram ride) - for its Frenchness and shopping.

St Emilion is a 70 minute drive away.
