Local area Villedieu is a very popular tourist destination having grown up around the copper and brass industry. There are a number of different workshops, foundries and museums around the town that make for a pleasant afternoon visit. The town also has a very good selection of shops in the main street as well as several cafe bars. Tuesday is market day and this takes over the centre of town for the whole morning. |

Villedieu is an excellent centre for exploring the local countryside and visiting the local attractions. A new fast road (A 84) takes you to Bayeux, Caen, the landing beaches, close to Mont St Michel and St Malo. There are beautiful wide sandy beaches around Granville which is one of the largest working fishing ports in France. Granville has a good selection of restaurants around the Old Port. |
