La Terrièrre is set in its own secure grounds with parking for up to four vehicles. It is accessed through its own private lane.

The garden is mainly lawned with mature trees and views out over fields, patio furniture and a barbecue are provided.

Local area

The cottage is located, near the village of Bures Les Monts and is ideal for exploring Normandy, enjoying French cuisine and their relaxed way of life.

The village of Campeaux - 2km - has shops, boulangerie and bar and the large town of Vire - 18km - has all the usual facilities including three large supermarkets and restaurants.

The underground world of the Souterroscope with its fantastic light show.

Bayeux to see the 900 year old tapestry commissioned to celebrate the Norman invasion of England in 1066 by William the Conqueror.

The panoramic view from the top of Mount Pinçon and the monument to the Royal Hussars, scene of an epic battle in 1944.

Monet’s Garden at Giverney including the famous ‘Japanese Bridge’.

Visit Villedieu les Poeles with its many varied metal workshops including the Bell Foundry.

Le Mans, home of the famous 24 hour race.

Take the ferry to visit Jersey or Guernsey.

Paris is only two and a half hours away by autoroute.

Activities:

Fishing - Lake Dathee near Vire is excellent.

Golf - there are 37 golf courses in Normandy, the nearest course is near Vire. The course at Lake Dathee is in a beautiful setting. Mini Golf available at Pont Farcy.

Bungee jumping or zip lining at the Gustav Eiffel’s Viaduct de Souleuvre. It is also worth going to watch.

Hot air ballooning over the magnificent Normandy countryside.

Horse riding - stables can be found locally.

Canoeing or sailing on the many rivers and lakes. Brecy and Pont Farcy are excellent for canoeing and kayaking (boats and equipment for hire ) Lake Dathee is also good for sailing.

There many fine walks with spectacular views.
