La Garenne holiday cottages, an ideal base for exploring the Lot Valley.
We are in the heart of Cahors wine country, close to the River Lot, and charming market towns of Prayssac, Montcuq and Puy l’Eveque.
The houses occupy an elevated position and are situated on the edge of the hamlet of Le Vert.
Le Vert is the ideal peaceful location to enjoy a relaxing holiday in the beautiful Lot Region of south-west France.

The door from the courtyard opens into the entrance hall leading to the bedrooms and the bathroom. An oak open-tread staircase leads up to the large, sunny, first floor open-plan living room with fully fitted kitchen, dining area and lounge with comfortable seating.

The cast iron wood-burning stove is an attractive feature for out-of-season lets. The TV receives Freesat programmes including BBC and ITV as well as English language Radio, and there is a DVD / CD Player.
Broadband is cabled to La Loge and the Wifi signal is very reliable.
The large kitchen area has fitted limed-oak units with tiled work-surfaces, and is well-equipped with a new electric oven, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, toaster, coffee-maker, electric kettle, and a corner canopy over a ceramic hob. There are adequate supplies of cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware.
A washing machine and tumble drier are also provided.

All rooms are equipped with electric convector heaters for use if required.
Full oil-fired central heating is installed and may be used by arrangement at a supplement of £50 per week. Logs available for the wood-burning stove.
Outside
La Loge is situated in its own private, large south-facing courtyard which is equipped with dining table and chairs, parasol, reclining loungers and barbecue.
(La Petite Maison (adjacent) is self-contained, providing accommodation for a further two people if required and is ONLY available if booked in conjunction with La Loge for your friends or family. Rest assured that, if La Petite Maison is not required, it would not be let to others during your stay.)
La Petite Maison is accessed via the external stone staircase and terrace from the Courtyard.
We believe our visitors value their privacy and, whilst the house is completely self-contained, because it is situated in the same Courtyard as La Loge, it is ONLY occupied if you require additional accommodation for friends or family.
The sole exception is out-of-season if a cosy house is required for just two people.
The entrance door from the terrace opens into the large living room which is full of character, having an imposing inglenook fireplace with cast-iron Godin wood-burning stove, television with Freesat programmes, CD and DVD players
The old oak table and traditional rush-seated dining chairs are complemented by other items of furniture to create a truly charming and comfortable ambiance.
In one corner is the compact yet well-equipped kitchen area incorporating electric fan oven and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, coffee-maker, electric kettle and toaster. There are adequate supplies of cooking utensils, attractive crockery, cutlery and glassware.
A washing machine and tumble drier are also provided.
The ensuite bedroom has a double bed with comfortable mattress. The bathroom, which leads off the bedroom, has a bath with shower over.
Internet via reliable cabled broadband and good Wifi signal.

La Petite Maison has its own terrace with barbecue and has access to the large south-facing courtyard which is equipped with dining table and chairs, parasol and reclining loungers.
Le Pigeonnier is situated in an elevated position and enjoys lovely views across the valley from all rooms.
The kitchen has fitted oak units and is well-equipped with new electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble-dryer, toaster, coffee-maker, electric kettle and a corner canopy over an electric hob. There are adequate supplies of cooking utensils, attractive crockery, cutlery and glassware.
To one side of the kitchen is the vaulted lounge, which also opens onto the terrace, and to the other side is the beamed living / dining room.
The living rooms have comfortable easy chairs and dining furniture. The TV receives Freesat programmes including BBC and ITV as well as English language Radio, and there is a DVD / CD Player.
The dining room doors open onto a tiled, partially enclosed area, which provides a shaded eating-out space.

La Garenne is an ideal base for exploring the Lot Valley. We are in the heart of Cahors wine country, close to the River Lot, and charming market towns of Prayssac, Montcuq and Puy l’Eveque.
The houses occupy an elevated position and are situated on the edge of the hamlet Le Vert, surrounded by delightful countryside, in the middle of a small farming and wine-producing community.
Le Vert is 3km from the village of Sauzet where there is a boulangerie, general store, restaurant and bar.
For more shops and the Farmers’ Friday Market, Prayssac is just 20 minutes away, beside the River Lot.
Cahors, only 14 miles to the east, is the historic capital of the Lot Departement and is famous for its fortified bridge, old town and domed Cathedral.
Twenty minutes to the north-west is Puy l’Eveque, an attractive medieval town on a promontory overlooking the Lot river and reflected in its calm waters.
To the south, ten minutes away by car, Montcuq is a little country town with a colourful Market on Sunday mornings.

La Petite Maison is only available, if required, in conjunction with La Loge at a supplement of £165 per week. If La Petite Maison is not required, you may rest assured that it would NOT be occupied by others during your stay. NB: La Petite Maison is normally let ONLY in conjunction with La Loge from 1st April to 1st November. Outside these dates it may be available on its own. |
Duvets and UK size pillows are provided.
Linen and towels can be supplied at a small extra charge.
This can be provided if required at a cost of £8 per person
(duvet cover, sheet, pillow case, towels, teacloths).
Please remember to bring towels for outside use.
A pine cot, high chair and stair-gate are available if required.
No pets are accepted.
No smoking is allowed within the property.
