Gite with swimming pool near Boussac - Creuse - in the Limousin

Self catering gite set in 2.5 acres of enclosed land with outdoor swimming pool and large children’s filtered pool.
La Maison Rose is situated at St Marien, a sleepy farming village surrounded by countryside, 8km from Boussac in the Creuse department in the Limousin.
The Limousin is the green rural unspoilt area of Central France with a warm summer climate. This area is ideal for a peaceful holiday with something for everyone’s taste.

Accommodation

The property is centrally heated.

Baby facilities.
A papa’s high chair is available in the kitchen.
Baby gates are available for the top and bottom stairs. Upstairs windows all have child locks.
A full size cot with bed linen is available and also a travel cot/playpen.
The following can also be provided: baby changing mat, baby bath, potty, baby monitor, steriliser, spare bottles, bottle brush, dish and beaker sets, spare bibs and dummies and safety plug covers.

Lounge area -
The lounge, with oak beams, is tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished with suite, coffee tables, wood-burner stove and TV with English freeview and video/DVD player (videos may be borrowed from the owners).
Books and games are provided including a good sized table top pool table.

Kitchen/Diner -
The large kitchen/diner is light and airy and has been designed to give a social feel at mealtimes. The fully fitted kitchen has ample storage for groceries and is well-equipped with kitchen utensils and the usual appliances including; full-size cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and ironing facilities. Tea towels and hand towels are provided.

A welcome pack containing English tea bags, coffee, sugar, milk, a bottle of red and white wine and a carton of orange juice is also provided.

Bedrooms
The three bedrooms are light and airy with plenty of storage space.

Bedrooms 1 and 2 have double beds, double wardrobes, dressing table and bedside tables with bedside lights and radio alarm clock.

Bedroom 3 has twin beds, double wardrobe, dressing table and bedside tables.

A hairdryer is available and towels can be provided on request.

Shower room -
With shower cubicle, wash hand basin, WC and Velux window.

Pool and Garden

The fenced-in and alarmed open-air swimming pool (10m x 5m) is shared with the owners.
It is installed in a part of the garden that catches the sun all day.
Pool toys are available. ‘How about a game of water volley ball’.

There is a patio area and a decking area with sunbeds and parasols surrounding a large filtered paddling pool.

The large enclosed garden offers plenty of area for children to run and play safely.
It has many activities on offer such as table tennis, badminton, football, swings and a seesaw.

The gite has its own large gated driveway.

Bicycles are available.
Helmets and safety equipment are not provided and the owners accept no liability whatsoever for any accidents, damage or injury that might occur whilst these cycles are being used.
 

Local Area

Boussac - 8km - is a small historic town with a chateau to visit and offers restaurants, cafes, banks and various shops.

There is a lovely chateau at Culan to visit.

The man-made beach at Sidalls, which is close by, has a picnic area with tables or if you prefer there is a café. Sidalls offers swimming and pedaloes.

Visit the home of George Sands at Nohant-Vic and the museum dedicated to her.

Various festivals are on during the summer months. There are also many brocantes and markets.

Close by is Les Claudits donkey farm to visit with donkey rides or carriage rides by appointment.

An ideal area for cycling, walking and horse riding.

Fishing - there are a number of well-stocked lakes nearby.

Golf - there are a number of golf courses within a short distance of the gite.
