Gites with swimming pool near Aubusson in the Creuse department of the Limousin


	Le Moulin de Sansonneche is a renovated wool mill that consists of 2 independent gîtes and the owners’ accommodation. It is set in woodland on the banks of the river Gioune at Gioux, 18km from Aubusson. The delightful gardens, wooded grounds, swimming pool and river ensure a tranquil and relaxing holiday.

	The Moulin is accessed by crossing a small stone bridge spanning the river Gioune. Both gîtes are of similar layouts.

Accommodation

The ground floor of each gîte is approximately 50m² and is open plan in design.

The cosy lounge area is charmingly furnished with comfortable sofas surrounding an open fire.
A large country-style table seats six adults and a painted dresser completes the country cottage atmosphere.

Upstairs are three bedrooms, 2 double and one twin with comfortable metal or wooden beds.

To complete the romantic idyll two of the bedrooms in each gite overlook the river.

Each gite has a stereo system, television and DVD player. Some UK free view channels are available.

The kitchen, which is separated from the lounge and dining areas by a small waist-high stone wall, is fully equipped with a gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

There is electric heating throughout and each living room has a large fireplace.

Cots and a high chair are available.

Use of a telephone is available on request at extra charge.

One complete set of bed linen is provided as part of the rental, towels are not included.

Outside

All of the land around the Moulin is available for use for walking, exploring, cycling or relaxing on a sun lounger or hammock.

A number of picnic tables are dotted around the garden and by the banks of the river.

For al fresco cuisine there are two stone-built barbecues.

The swimming pool is approximately 9m x 5m and can be used daily during the summer. It has a decked terrace area for sunbathing.

At the lower end of the garden the river forms a shallow, wide, slow flowing pool which offers a safe and exciting environment for both children and adults.

Local area

The pretty market town of Felletin - 8km - with its cobbled streets and Friday morning market is the nearest town.

Aubusson - 18km - is a beautiful medieval town steeped in history, famous for its tapestries and carpets.

Fishing - The river Gioune is classified as Class A and, subject to the appropriate licence, is available for trout fishing free of charge. There are also a couple of local fishing lakes.

Lac du Vassivière - 25km - one of the largest lakes in France, a fresh water lake with beautiful beaches, a full range of water sports, children’s play area, cafés and restaurants.

Near Vassinière is the fabulous Parc d’Arbre en Arbre, an aerial rope course suitable for all ages with giant swings, Tyrolean zip wires and suspension bridges.

Skiing - Only one hours drive away lies the spa and mountain ski resort of Mont Dore.
During the ski season there are approximately 30 piste runs for all abilities.

The cable car to the station a couple of hundred metres below the summit of Puy de Sancy is open all year allowing access to some stunning high level walks.
