A traditional 3-storey French village house located centrally within the village of Darazac in the Corrèze department of Limousin.
Darazac is a well established village nestling on a plateau between the Dordogne and the Auvergne.

Accommodation

The front door and first floor is reached from the outside stairs.

First floor

Spacious living room with comfortable lounge furniture, a large oak dining table and seating and a French dresser containing ample glassware and china.
There are books, board games and toys at your disposal.

A wood burning heater is located in the inglenook in the living room, the oak logs are stored in the cellar.

The well equipped kitchen has a large fridge/freezer, four ring hob plus gas cooker, microwave oven, dishwasher and washing machine.

Double bedroom and WC / shower.

Double bedroom with washbasin.

Twin bedroom

Single bedroom with ensuite shower.

The rear bedrooms provide spectacular views of the meadows.

A cot for a baby/toddler is provided.

All bedrooms have convector heaters.

Outside

The garden is reached by railed steps from the back door in the kitchen. It is a south western facing garden and very sheltered with views over the local countryside.

There is a vine covered terrace, garden furniture and barbecue. It is a pleasant place to enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine and good company in the evening sunshine.

Access to the cave is via the door under the steps and it is here that logs are stored for the wood burning heater in the lounge. There is a WC with washbasin at garden level.

Local area

The countryside around Darazac is an area of great natural beauty and abundant wildlife, perfect for walking, horse riding, cycling, canoeing, fishing, swimming, sailing, skiing or just relaxing.

The famous, spectacular ruins of the Tours de Merle are nearby as well as Rocamadour and Lascaux caves.

Further afield are the mountains of the Auvergne and the verdant plains of the Dordogne.

Argentat, on the river Dordogne, is the nearest town

The nearby Lac de Feyt provides some 65 hectares of water together with a cafe.
There are other lakes, large and small, further away with Marcillac-la-Croisille on the other side of the Dordogne being popular for boating, swimming and fishing.

Skiing and Mountain Biking - depending on the season skiing and mountain biking is available at the resort of Le Lioran located in the park of the volcanoes in the Auvergne.

Saint Privat (5km) is the nearest town and has a church, supermarket, bank, post-office, butchers, bakers, newsagent, restaurants, petrol/diesel filling station, chemist and tourist information.

Argentat-sur-Dodogne is the nearest large town with riverside quay, restaurants, medieval buildings, markets and shops.

A 40-minute drive will take you to Brive la Gaillarde, a sophisticated town with excellent facilities and motorway, airport and rail connections.
