Accommodation

The heart of the house is the Salon. The kitchen, caves, games room, gallery and snug are separate but adjoin this room. The stairs and gallery give access to the four upstairs bedrooms. Two bedrooms are on the ground floor.

The Salon provides a spacious lounge and one of the indoor dining areas. It also benefits from a second television and DVD player. During winter months enjoy the warmth of a wood burning fire.

Kitchen

The stylish, luxury fully fitted kitchen, with solid granite work surfaces, is designed to cater for up to twelve people. It's ideal for cooking that celebratory meal for Thanksgiving, Christmas or other special occasion.

Designed to be completely flexible, the kitchen includes two ovens, a six ring hob, microwave, twelve place dishwasher, two fridges. kettle, coffee maker and toaster. It is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils.

There is a separate utility area with two washing machines, drying facilities, iron and board.

The six bedrooms are all well appointed, individual and furnished with care, to enjoy a truly peaceful and comfortable night.

Snug

The reclining chairs in the Snug are ideal for reading and relaxing. During the winter months enjoy  the warmth of a fire in the ancient fireplace.

Games Room

The spacious Games Room is equipped for fun with a sound system, table and chairs, a vintage arcade game and a full sized football table.

Cave and Wine Cave

Originally for cheese making the traditional Cave is a beautiful tranquil candle lit room for cool lunches and leisurely dinners - seats twelve.

The Wine Cave, originally for wine storage, is the perfect place to savour a glass of wine. It is a great getaway and is cool in during the summer. Here you will find a selection of books to borrow and enjoy.
 

The house has broadband with WiFi - an Ethernet connection is also provided.

There are hairdryers, fans and CD players in most rooms. Two travel cots and two high chairs available.

There is a well stocked DVD library with titles for everyone. The music players have connections for iPods/MP3 players and a range of CDs.

Outside

There is a 7,500 metre Mediterranean fenced garden with vines, lavender, olive trees, bamboo, orchard, a wilderness, a play area, Mediterranean plants and fragrant plantings. In the garden are newly planted fruit trees to add to the already fruiting apricot, damsons, greengages as well as a mature Grenache grape vine.

The play area has children's swings and slide.

Terrace

Sitting on the south facing, private terrace gives views over the huge fragrant garden, olive trees, vines, pool and surrounding countryside. The old stone walls of the Mas soak up the day time sun and radiate warmth during the evenings.

Overlooking the huge garden both the pool and the terrace have outdoor furniture for twelve and there is a wood burning, stone built barbecue. Discover the choice of other outdoor eating places in the garden.

Choose one of the dining places in the garden. Savour freshly cooked Mediterranean food from the traditional Provençal barbecue during the long, warm summer evenings.

Pool

Relax and play in the secluded, heated pool, enjoy swimming in water bored from a deep source, natural well. The pool is set on the brow of a hill where it benefits from the famous Mistral, and views over the terraced vineyards, wooded hills and into the valley of the Ceze.

The private, 15m x 7m pool, is generously furnished with a choice of contemporary furniture and loungers for rest and relaxation. Younger children will play and have fun in the Californian Beach shallow area of the pool.

Local area and activities

Mas de Cadignac is in the heart of the unspoiled Languedoc Roussillion, where the French go on holiday. The area is full of the sights, sounds, tastes and smells that make up the wonderful ingredients for a truly fantastic holiday. Being close to the edge of the Cevennes and some of the greatest French tourist attractions, it's the perfect place to be.

The Department of the Gard stretches from the wild and beautiful mountains of the Cevennes across the Rhone valley and sweeps down to the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean Sea. Offering opportunities to experience a great variety of scenery and lifestyles.

Just five minutes drive is the provincial market town of Bagnols-sur-Ceze. Bagnols benefits from a choice of three supermarkets, numerous bakeries, butchers, banks with ATMs and all the usual amenities. Choose from more than forty restaurants ranging from the highest quality dining to Menu du Jour Restaurants and cafes and bars.

1km away is a riding stables catering for all abilities, children and adults.

Tennis courts are available within 10 minutes in Bagnols-Sur-Ceze or in Sabran. Cycle hire is available and is very popular.

Mas de Cadignac lies on one of the local walking routes. A map, showing these and other routes, is in the house. Bagnols-sur-Ceze is a centre for walking holidays.

Golf - A choice of courses in Ales, Avignon, Uzes and two in Nimes.

Enjoy fishing and canoeing along the Ceze and in the Cevennes and Vacluse.

Mediterranean Beaches - from the Cap d’Agde to the edge of the Petite Camargue you will find a series of sandy beaches such as Carnon and La Grande-Motte.

Local historical visits include Avignon, Orange, Pont de la Gard, Baux de Provence, Montelimar, Uzes, the many small medieval hilltop villages and sophisticated towns dotted around the local countryside.

A great diversity of local festivals include: food, wine, truffles, nougat, produits de gout, music, seasonal, jazz and blues festivals. Local publicity promotes these festival which feature throughout the year.

The Christmas Festival, Wine Festival and Summer bull running at Uzes are spectacular.

Complimentary local wines welcome you to the Mas de Cadignac.

Holiday contract includes linen, bedding, towels, gas, water and electricity.

We are usually able to arrange additional local services.
These include floral arrangements as required, food shopping, daily maid service, winter wood delivery for open fires, French teaching and a daily chef.
Please request when booking. These services are paid for locally on arrival.

who is available during your holiday to respond quickly to any queries.

Final clean is payable locally, depending on the number of people in your party.

Changeover day is Saturday in high season.

Cleaning and change of linen can be arranged in advance or on arrival.

Low season, long let, part week and weekend specials are available.
Discounts may be available for small groups.

Groups up to 14 can be accommodated,
a pro-rata per person charge will be made for groups larger than 12.
