Self catering accommodation with heated pool near Pontivy in the Morbihan, Brittany

Family friendly self-catering gites with a children’s playroom, large heated swimming pool, boules court, short tennis, badminton court and children’s adventure play area all within spacious grounds with ample parking.
The gites are situated in the peaceful rural village of Kermaux, 15 minutes south of Pontivy.

WiFi internet available.       We regret that no pets are allowed.

The Longhouse comprises three self-contained gites in a Breton longére – once a small farmhouse.

Le Laurier

Large L-shaped oak-beamed living room with slate tiled hearth and wood burning stove, two comfortable sofas and chair around a coffee table. There is a dining table with seating for six, a sideboard and a portable gas heater, and a large French dresser along the end wall containing books and a wide range of glassware.

The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, big double sink, microwave, large fridge-freezer, gas oven with four burners, ample cupboard and drawer space and a kitchen table with two chairs.

There is a downstairs WC with basin.

First floor

One double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a single bedroom with another (full size) bed for a 6th person. The bedrooms all have bedside lamps and storage and hanging space for clothes.

The modern bathroom contains a shower cubicle, basin, WC and bidet.

A back door from the kitchen leads to a private outdoor space and patio area with table and chairs for six, with access to the communal gardens.

Le Romarin

To the right of the entrance lobby is a lounge with easy chairs and a sofa around a fireplace containing a wood burning stove. At the rear of the lounge there is a shower room and separate WC and basin. An enclosed stairway leads to the twin / double bedroom above.

To the left of the lobby is a kitchen / dining area with dining table and chairs for six and a well equipped corner kitchen with double sink, gas cooker, dishwasher, fridge, toaster and microwave.

A small lobby leads to the ground floor shower room with WC and basin.

First floor
A double bedroom and a twin bedroom - accessed from the kitchen/dining room.

A twin bedroom that can be made up as a double - accessed from the lounge.

All bedrooms contain storage space, hanging rails and bedside lights.

La Lavande

La Lavande is a very bright and cheerful gite with French windows facing on to the gardens.

It has a sitting area round a wood burning stove, a dining table for four and a corner kitchen with gas cooker, dishwasher, sink, microwave and fridge.

A lobby leads to the shower room with WC and basin.

Upstairs a gallery leads you to two bedrooms, one double and one twin; equipped with bedside lights, mirrors, chest of drawers, clothes hanging and storage space.

The Shorthouse

Flexible accommodation as 2 individual gites for couples or interconnecting to sleep 4 people in 2 bedrooms.

Both gites are fully furnished and have an oak beamed lounge area with a feature fireplace and wood burning stove.

A dining area with a table for two.

A corner kitchen comprising gas oven, fridge, microwave, electric kettle and toaster plus an abundance of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils.

On the other side of the staircase is a shower room with WC and basin/vanity unit.

These gîtes have the benefit of electric heating in the lounge and bathroom and separate hot water tanks.

Each has one large bedroom with chest of drawers, storage and hanging space for clothes.

L'Hortensia has twin beds which can be made up as a huge double.

Le Chêne has a double bed.

The gites have car-parking areas at the side which lead to a private patio at the back with sunshade, table and chairs plus a barbecue. The patio can be accessed through the back door also.

The Shorthouse has proved very popular as a two bedroomed gite. One lounge becomes a dining room and the other becomes the lounge and you have the luxury of two bathrooms.

Child friendly – allowances have been made for couples bringing a small child or baby and both have stairgates in the bedrooms. Cots are available.

Outside

Each gite has its own private area with table, chairs, parasol with barbecue available.

An enclosed, heated swimming pool with terrace, sunbeds, tables and chairs.

Large communal garden area with short tennis/badminton court, boules pitch, trampoline with safety net, basketball net and other games.

A children’s adventure play area with swings, slide and climbing frame.

There is a laundry room on site, undercover bike storage and ample off-road parking.

A children’s playhouse (very popular) with a TV monitor and a small selection of DVDs or videos – for children and adults – or you can bring your own favourites.

A telephone in the playhouse for use by our guests allows for incoming calls and outgoing local and emergency calls free. You can make long distance calls when using a card purchased at a tabac or post office.

WiFi internet is now available and located in the playhouse as a free service to our guests.

The playhouse is primarily for the use of toddlers and pre-school children, but should also prove useful for keeping older children amused, especially if the weather is a bit dodgy or later on in the evenings.

Ride-on toys activity area with Lego, books, puzzles, playpen and playmat, easel, toddler slide, beanbags, child‘s table and chairs and seating for parents.

Local area

Pluméliau, 3 miles from Kermaux, has supermarkets, bakers, petrol stations, banks, doctors and chemists plus sports facilities and go-karting.

The larger market towns of Pontivy, Baud and Locminé are within 15 - 20 minutes drive and offer a comprehensive range of services, bars, restaurants, weekly markets and tourist activity and recreation.

Water sports available at St Nicolas des Eaux, Pontivy, Baud and at Brittany’s largest lake Le Lac de Guerledan.

Golf de Rimaison (15 minutes) is the nearest golf course.

The River Blavet is one of France’s finest angling rivers with pike, carp, perch and tench.
There are also numerous lakes and trout streams nearby.

The Golfe de Morbihan - 40 minutes - has superb beaches and also excellent sea fishing.
