Self catering accommodation with heated pool near Pontivy in the Morbihan, Brittany

Family-run self catering gites with large heated swimming pool, boules court, short tennis, badminton court and children’s play area all within spacious grounds with ample parking.
The gites are situated in the peaceful rural village of Kermaux, 15 minutes south of Pontivy and 40 minutes from superb beaches.

Smoking is permitted but only downstairs.      We regret that no pets are allowed.

The Longhouse

Each gite is different in layout but all have oak-beamed lounge / dining areas and are fully furnished. All the kitchen areas are well equipped.
Pillows, duvets, blankets, bedcovers, all linen and towels (except beach towels) are provided as standard.
Each gite has a radio and a selection of books, board games and information packs with suggestions of places to visit and local activities.

Le Laurier

L-shaped living room with a tiled hearth with wood burning stove, surrounded by a sofa and chairs for six.
There is a dining table with six chairs, a large French dresser and an arch leading to a good sized kitchen.
The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, double sink, microwave, large fridge/freezer, gas oven with four-burner hob, ample cupboard and drawer space and a kitchen table with two chairs.
Ground floor WC.

Upstairs are three bedrooms - one double, one twin and one single. All the bedrooms have bedside lamps and storage space for clothes.
The modern bathroom has a shower cubicle, basin WC and bidet.

A door from the kitchen leads out to a private area and then to a patio area with table and chairs for six.
There is also access to the communal gardens.

Le Romarin

Two easy chairs and a sofa form the sitting area around a wood burning stove.
There is a dining table for four and a well equipped corner kitchen. Lobby leading to the ground floor shower room with WC and basin.

Upstairs are two attractive bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other has two single beds. Both bedrooms have storage space, hanging rails and bedside lights.

La Lavande

This is a very bright and cheerful gite with French windows facing on to the gardens. It has a sitting area around a wood burning stove, a dining table for four and a corner kitchen with gas cooker, sink and fridge. A lobby leads to a shower room with WC and basin.

Upstairs a gallery leads to two bedrooms, one double and on twin. Each bedroom is equipped with bedside lights, mirrors, chest of drawers, clothes hanging and storage space.

Le Cerisier

An ideal gîte for couples. Le Cerisier has a spacious living/dining room with a good corner kitchen with gas cooker, toaster, sink and fridge.
Two armchairs and a small table face the fireplace and a dining table and two chairs complete the eating arrangements.
Ground floor shower room with WC and basin.

A lobby provides stairs up to a sizeable gallery-style bedroom containing a large double bed, bedside cupboards and lights, chest of drawers, mirror and clothes racks.

Outside

Each gite has its own private area with table, chairs, parasol and barbecue.

There is a spacious grassed communal area with a heated swimming pool (11m x 4.2m), paved and decked terrace with sun loungers. The pool is securely fenced according to French regulations.

There is a boules court and boules, short tennis / badminton court and kit, basket ball and net plus a mini football net.

There is a laundry room on site and ample off-road parking.

New for 2008

A children’s playroom, primarily for use by toddlers and pre-school children but should also prove useful for older children later in the evenings or in inclement weather.

The playroom will provide ride-on toys, an activity area with Lego etc., books and puzzles, playpen and playmat, easel, toddlers slide, bean bags and seating for parents.
There will also be a TV monitor with a selection of DVDs and videos.

Outside there is a sturdy play structure with children’s swings, slide and climbing frame.

The Shorthouse

Flexible accommodation as 2 individual gites for couples or interconnecting to sleep 4 people in 2 bedrooms.

Both gites are fully furnished and have oak beamed lounge / dining rooms, a kitchenette and a feature fireplace with a wood burning stove.
Shower room with WC and basin.
These gites have the benefit of electric heating in the lounge and bathroom.

Upstairs - Le Chêne has a double bed and L’Hortensia has twin beds which can be made up as a double.

Outside - the gites have car parking areas at the side which lead to a private patio with sunshade, table and chairs and barbecue.

Local area

Pluméliau, 3 miles from Kermaux, has supermarkets, bakers, petrol stations, banks, doctors and chemists plus sports facilities and go-karting.

The larger market towns of Pontivy, Baud and Locminé are within 15 - 20 minutes drive and offer a comprehensive range of services, bars, restaurants, weekly markets and tourist activity and recreation.

Water sports available at St Nicolas des Eaux, Pontivy, Baud and at Brittany’s largest lake Le Lac de Guerledan.

Golf de Rimaison (15 minutes) is the nearest golf course.

The River Blavet is one of France’s finest angling rivers with pike, carp, perch and tench.
There are also numerous lakes and trout streams nearby.

The Golfe de Morbihan - 40 minutes - has superb beaches and also excellent sea fishing.

Optional extras:

• Final cleaning service of £20/£25/£30 depending on the size of the gite.
• Use of laundry room - 3 Euros per machine (washing powders etc. are provided).
