Accommodation

A new kitchen has been installed and equipped to a high standard with stainless steel cooker and hob, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Cutlery and crockery to accommodate 8 place settings together with all the necessary cooking equipment is provided for your use.

There is an automatic washing machine, iron and ironing board situated in the small utility room.

The ground floor bathroom includes a toilet, washbasin and multi jet shower.

The dining room has an 8 place table and chairs.

The sitting room provides comfortable seating to relax, with an English satellite TV, video and DVD player and CD player. A small selection of films and books are provided for use.

On the first floor, a small landing leads to a double-bedded room and a triple-bedded room.

An additional put-you-up bed and cot is available for your use and can be placed in either room. (Please bring your own bedding for the cot).

Outside

The gite stands in its own grounds of 5 acres, the large garden gently slopes down to a plunge pool and deck area. The pool has a safety rail and a child-proof lockable gate.

In the evening the pool lights give the ideal tranquility for that enjoyable glass of wine to round off the day.

Local area

Coat ar Pont ar C'hoat is hidden down its own long drive and nestles in its own valley on the edge of the Foret Domaniale de Freau, a national park of natural beauty.

The gite is centrally located in Brittany, only 1 hour from the ferry port of Roscoff.

The spectacular northern Brittany beaches are some 40 minutes away and some of the amazing countryside and woodlands are on your doorstep.

In the small town of Carnoet - 10 minutes -  is the closest shop selling local provisions including fresh bread and milk.

The nearest large town of Carhaix Plouguer, 15 minutes from the gite, offers everything from extensive shopping to adventure parks.

Carhaix has indoor go-karting, a modern swimming pool with large slide, bowling, sauna and spa and the highly recommended local adventure park offering high wire traversing through the woodlands and zip wire across the lakes.

Sailing, windsurfing, swimming, fishing (both sea and freshwater), golf, canal boating, riding, walking, bowling, go-karting, tree traversing high wire adventure park, horse riding and cycling are just a few of the activities available within an easy drive from the gite.

Superb shopping in the cities of Morlaix, Quimper, Rennes and Vannes is easily accessible.

Many religious festivals and ‘pardons’ with processions take place between May and September. It is during these processions that you may have the chance to see some of the great variety of richly embroidered local costumes. The pardons are celebrated with much dancing and music using traditional instruments such as the Celtic harp, Breton bagpipes, drums and flutes.

The Rose Granite coastline with spectacular walks and fish restaurants is 45 minutes away.

The Cote d’Emeraude (Emerald Coast) runs west along the north coast of Brittany from Mont Saint-Michel.

There are a number of harbour towns and fine beaches from St. Malo and Dinard to St-Brieuc, all linked by a coastal road.

Dinan, a little inland from St. Malo, lies at the mouth of the River Rance. Its old town, cobbled streets and city walls give it an old-world air and there are many good restaurants.

Huelgoat - 20 minutes - an area of outstanding natural beauty, offers the most fantastic walks through boulder-strewn ravines and grottos. Woodland paths lead to the tranquil lake that dominates the town. Local creperies and restaurants offer excellent food alongside the waters edge.

Callac’s Lac de la Vallée Verte - 10 minutes - with an area of 8 hectares, is a central feature of the town and particularly popular with both novice and experienced fishermen. There is a small sandy area ideal for children, as well as a mini golf course, basketball and tennis courts and a roller-blading park.

Similarly, Lac de Guerledan, Brittany’s largest inland body of water, is only 1 hour from Callac and has several interesting freshwater fishing locations as well as some beautiful nature trails and numerous water sports.

There is a superb selection of high quality and original golf courses close to Callac.
