Accommodation

The three gites have been refurbished to retain their original beamed character.

Carpeted throughout, the gites are fitted to a high standard. Each comprises an open plan living area on the ground floor with a full size double sofa bed.

On the first floor is a large bedroom with attractive pine furniture including a double bed and two single bunk beds.

Two of the gites have a shower room with toilet and wash basin, the third has a bathroom with toilet and wash basin.

All the gites are fitted with: smoke alarm, fire blanket and extinguisher, washing machine, small cooker, microwave oven and a full complement of crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment, UK TV Free to View Channels and free Wi-Fi internet access.
An ironing board, iron and vacuum cleaner are also provided.

Stair gates, high chair and cots are available.

Outside

We have a games room with table tennis, mini football and darts.

Each gite has a private terrace facing a spacious garden which gives plenty of room to play or just enjoy the countryside.

We provide boules for use on our boules pitch and swingball for use in the garden.

A small area of garden is fenced to enclose an area for little ones to play safely.

Beyond the garden is a field in which the children can also play or in which to take a stroll to the top of the hill.

We also have an assortment of bicycles of various sizes. NB: we do not provide cycling helmets.

Garden lovers might be interested in our valley garden. We bridged the steep little valley between the gites and the backfield with an earth bridge in 2002 and started converting the wilderness in the valley into a garden. Each year it progresses a little more and we have big plans for the area. It is already a pleasant place to stroll and will soon be equipped with some seats for visitors. There is an interesting assortment of plants, many of which have been given to us by friends and visitors.

Local area

The beautiful lake at Jugon is the centre for many activities including fishing, sailing and canoeing.

Locally there is also horse riding, tennis and a swimming pool.

There is a selection of restaurants in the town and enough shops for daily needs.

Supermarkets are available at Lamballe in one direction and Dinan in the other.

The coast of northern Brittany is only 30 minutes drive from the gites and offers miles of golden sands and spectacular views, from small almost uninhabited coves to vast beaches, rugged cliffs and rock pools.
They range from the nearly deserted to the typical seaside resorts like St Val Andre, Erquy, St Cast and Sable d’Or.

The port of Dinan is also very picturesque and full of history with ramparts and old cobbled streets and has plenty of shops and restaurants.

Dinard, St Malo and Mont St Michel are all within an easy drive.

The surrounding countryside is ideal for cycling and walking.

There are a selection of golf courses nearby.

Dinard, whilst being a beautiful town, has a safe sandy beach at St Lunaire where water sports are available including wind surfing and water skiing.

There are large weekly markets at Lamballe and Dinan.

All linen except beach towels and cot linen is provided.
Electricity 0.20 euros per unit. Cleaning where required 31 euros.
