Whilst keeping many of the original features, the farmhouse has been tastefully decorated to a high standard with all modern facilities. The property is suitable for the elderly and/or disabled (having a ground floor bedroom) but there is no wheelchair access.

Open plan living area with comfortable armchairs and sofas around a wood-burning stove.

Dining area with large oak table and chairs to easily seat up to 10 people.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric 2-oven range cooker with gas hobs, microwave, double sink, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

Large fully furnished ground floor bedroom with 2 single beds and 1 double bed.

Shower room and ground floor WC.

There is a separate laundry room with washing machine, sink and ironing facilities.

Large landing with sofa and chairs: stairs lead down to main hall.

Bedroom 2 - large fully furnished double bedroom with ensuite shower, WC, bidet and washbasin.

Bedroom 3 - fully furnished double bedroom.

Bedroom 4 - fully furnished twin bedroom.

Main bathroom with bath/shower, WC, washbasin, table and chair.

Bed linen and house towels, hairdryers, Wifi internet access, English / French satellite TV, DVD and CD player are all provided as well as all products for dishwasher and washing machine.

Swimming pool 10m x5 m with roman steps (cleaned daily). The pool is floodlit and there are lights around the pool and covered terrace.

South-facing paved covered terrace with large table and chairs.

Own driveway with plenty of parking space.

Local Area

3 kms from St Colomb de Lauzun is the village of Lauzun which has all your basic shopping requirements such as a small supermarket, butcher, baker, pharmacy, newsagents, post office and bank plus a good restaurants and a cafe. There is a tiny market on Saturday morning.

Also worth a visit is the 14^th - 17^th century Chateau in the village.

For more extensive shopping try Bergerac, Marmande, Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Bordeaux.

Lot et Garonne is a department of gently rolling countryside and pretty bastide villages such as Castillonnés, Villereal and Monflanquin, where weekly markets are held in the cobbled squares.

There are many good restaurants within easy reach of Merle where you can try the local gastronomic delights such as foie gras and confit de canard.

This is also the area for walnuts and prunes and on a warm summer evening you can smell the wonderful aroma from the prune ovens in the village.

25 minutes drive south of Bergerac and the famous Château de Monbazillac, St. Colomb de Lauzun is also ideal for touring the Dordogne valley and the vineyards of St. Emilion and Bordeaux which are only just over 1 hour’s drive away.

Every village has its own annual fete, and Lauzun has a ‘Gasconnade’ in mid-August.

There are many areas to explore in the region, and many sports and activities; canoeing, walking, tennis in Lauzun, golfing, etc.

There are many golf courses within easy reach. Villeneuve Golf & Country Club has an excellent championship 18 hole course and the well known international course of Chateau Vigiers with its own hotel, restaurant and vineyard are only a 30 minutes drive from Merle.

How To Get to St. Colomb de Lauzun in Lot-et-Garonne, South West France.

• Merle is easily driveable – 7 hrs from St. Malo or Caen.
• Alternatively, Ryan Air operate flights from Stanstead, Liverpool and Nottingham to Bergerac and Flybe from Southampton, Exeter, Gatwick and Leeds to Bergerac wich is 25 minutes drive from Merle.
• There is also a Birmingham – Bergerac route.
• British Airways fly from Gatwick to Bordeaux which is about 1 hr 30m from Merle.

Bookings are from Wednesday to Wednesday, making travelling easier and enabling you to enjoy weekend activities.

Rental fee is inclusive of all bed linen, gas, water and electricity.
