Accommodation

The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, chest freezer, coffee maker, kettle, oven and grill, ceramic 4 ring hob, toaster, microwave, cooker hood, washing machine, iron and ironing board.  Plenty of cupboard space with all the necessary plates, dishes, cutlery needed along with cooking utensils.

The dining area will seat 6 people comfortably.

The lounge has a new large three seater sofa-bed and two wicker chairs, a coffee table, 28" widescreen TV, UK satellite , DVD player and PlayStation with games. A bookcase with an abundance of books, and a hi-fi system. Internet service is available but only on your own laptop/WIFI. The lounge has double French doors front and back leading to the garden.

Outside

Le Bonté has a garden of approximately 3/4 acre giving plenty of room to play football or find a spot to sit and relax.

There are two outdoor tables with 8 chairs and parasol along with 4 sun loungers and a barbecue.

The rear is south facing so from glorious sunrises to sensational sunsets the views can be enjoyed at all times of the day.

There is a patio on all sides of the house and a shaded pergola is on one side. We have lots of outdoor toys and play equipment for children to play with.

Local area and activities

Sitting at the end of a lane there is no traffic, making it is very safe for children.
The house is only 2 minutes walk from the village of Villeneuve de Duras which has a boulangerie, convenience store, post office and bar restaurant.

Duras - 5 minutes - is our local bastide town with its own 13th century chateau, supermarket, restaurants, cafes and bars, small boutiques, pharmacy and butchers. Market day is every Monday. There are markets at neighbouring villages almost every day in easy reach.

Ste Foy La Grande - 10 minutes - is a little bigger than Duras but retains an element of charm. Here there are selection of larger supermarkets including Leclerc.

The region is famed for its stunning villages and bastide towns, many of which are a short ride away.

There are lots of activities nearby, walking, cycling, wine-tasting, sightseeing, small lakes with beach areas.

Sports facilities are in abundance with tennis at St Sernin or Duras, 18 hole golf at Vigiers and kayaking at Allemans du Dropt and other villages running alongside the Dordogne.

The busier town of Marmande - 25 minutes - has all the major shops.

Bergerac - 30 minutes - is an interesting mix of old and new and fine views along the Dordogne River. Bergerac is the nearest airport.

The splendid city of Bordeaux - 1 hour - is worth a visit. It is a beautiful city with many fine restaurants to choose from, wonderful buildings and great shopping.

Price is for up to 5 people sharing and is for the rent of the house, not per person.

We are flexible in that you can rent Le Bonté on a nightly to weekly basis.

We will consider long term lets.
