Outside

The garden is a large, spacious, relaxing area with an overall size of 700 m².

Planted in spring 2008 it is now flourishing. There are conifers running along the back wall, the side fence is filled with red robin, which gives beautiful colour to the garden all year round.

The garden is bathed in sunshine from dawn to dusk and has a secluded sunbathing area.

The swimming pool, outdoor hot tub or sauna area are the perfect places to relax and indulge your senses.

The heated salt-water pool (11m x 5m) is just the right temperature to be refreshing without being chilly.

Cool-off or warm-up in the poolside solar shower.

Enjoy a sauna, alone or with friends (sits up to 8, with separate showers and WC).
Or simply sip a sunset cocktail illuminated by the shimmering pool lights.

Local area

The property is situated in the picturesque village of Saint Saud Lacoussiere, situated in Northern Dordogne.

The village is situated on the border of the Limousin area and proudly hosts the ‘Hostellerie St Jaques’, one of the top restaurants in south-west France, just a few minutes walk from The Sanctuary

There is also a lake with a beach, where you can swim and enjoy a meal on the terrace of the restaurant.

During July and August, many festivities are organised in the area. During the other months, there are also numerous festivities for example in October there is the mushroom festival of the Cepes.

You can enjoy many excellent restaurants in the area. Specialities of the region include foie gras, confit de canard, truffles and nuts.

The Sanctuary is well placed to give easy access to the touristic delights of the Dordogne.

Savignac-de-Nontron (situated in the Parc Naturel Regional Perigord Limousin) - 10km.

Saint-Pardoux-la-Rivière - 11km -  Périgord post card museum of 1898 to 1920.

Saint-Front-la-Rivière - 14km - with its four chateaux and Roman church.

Lac de Rouffiac-en-Périgord - 30km - wakeboarding and waterskiing.

Brantôme - 30 km - visit the Benedictine Abbey and 11th century belfry or the Museum of Dolls Houses.

Near Brantôme is the prehistoric "Grotte de Villars", 13 kilometres of caves with prehistoric paintings.
